I don’t think we should blindly trust a shady company like @zoom_us. I’m hoping for a reassuring statement by @UniFAU that the contract ensures our privacy. We cannot force students tojoinlectures in Zoom if we don’t know what @zoom_us is going to do with their (and our) data!
Join us today at 6pm on Zoom, when Mark Morris will be re-examining Paul Hirst's 1993 lecture 'The Politics of Space' as part of our ongoing RE-Screen lecture series, an opportunity to re-examine lectures from the AA Archive: https://buff.ly/36jv0D0pic.twitter.com/xOnJ6jxPSj
FOR THOSE WHO DONT KNOW
USC has transitioned all Zoom classes into a password protected/USC login only/professor approval required system for students tojoin class sessions
They sent an email saying that “racist and vile language that interrupted lectures and learning”
Join the club bro ... Thank goodness for the internet and for @VanderbiltU
purchasing a Zoom pro license for all faculty - did my first 2 virtual lectures this past week. Good:@comcast has boosted internet speeds and given free high speed internet for 60d to poor neighborhoods.
Password protection must be a regular practice for lectures or group meetings. If they can join even meetings with a password, this is a big security issue, and probably @zoom_us have to develop a more secure pass & ensure privacy protection (i.e., sth like banks’ TAN barcode).
For the 500th anniversary of Raphael's death, the NY Patrons of the Vatican Museums have sponsored 4 lectures on "Raphael and His World" It's my joy to give these talks via Zoom during lockdown. Join us May 9 for "Clash of the the Titans" at 4pm ET! https://nyvaticanartpatrons.org/pic.twitter.com/7actKt6rpW
You'd be most welcome tojoin the Zoom presentation however it will obviously be nowhere near the standard of lectures you are used to..... I'm just a junior Mason trying to share a bit of knowledge with my local Brethren who mostly think people buy TH jewels because they are big
Even when we're allowed to be together in person again, Zoom should still be a thing. Let people from across the country join meetings and come tolectures online. We could be sharing so much knowledge if we weren't so married to geography.
